Summer Edit
Happy Summer Solstice! I feel like I’ve been waiting for this day all year. This winter and spring felt especially cold and grey and I’m just so grateful we finally made it here, as fleeting as it always is. As with every change of season, I like to spend some time thinking about how I want to spend it. What I want to do, taste, make, smell, listen to, etc. As I enter Summer almost 7 months pregnant, I know I’m going to have to be mindful of what I expect from myself. It’s likely going to be a little more slow paced than usual but I’m kind of excited for that, it help takes the pressure off of making the most of every moment of the season (which I find tends to happen with Summer). It feels a bit bittersweet, knowing this is our last Summer just us two and Penny but makes me excited as to how different next year will be and is encouraging me to be intentional how I spend these last 2.5 months before baby girl arrives. I envision this summer filled with leisure time spent outside, indulging in the season’s local produce, frequent visits to our local coffee and ice cream shops, eating al fresco and escaping the city for extra long weekends.
